And off we go…

Working on websites isn’t exactly new for me, but to say I am a rank amateur is actually pretty generous. I’ve never learned how to do any of this in an organized fashion. Instead it’s been problem by problem, over the last 15 years or so. Every new organization had a new system, most of them terrible, none of them able to talk to each other. (cough cough CONTRIBUTE cough cough).

Picking up HTML wasn’t too bad, and wordpress has made my life soooo much easier, but it’s been time for a more comprehensive, rational approach for quite a while. Enter the Domain of One’s Own initiative, which has magically appeared to save the day. I couldn’t sign up fast enough. Now I’m really hoping to learn, and finally understand what I’m doing, instead of just blindly doing it, particularly in the domain mapping, confusing back end of it all.

My goal:

No more this

but instead a smart, thought-out, and less scattershot approach (weirdly, finding a pic that shows this is very difficult. Imagine a hyper-efficient but not scary robot? Is that even possible? OK. Gonna try not to get sidetracked.)
